SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS Life Skills

We were delighted to welcome so many of our own Year 11 students, along with others looking to join the St Edward’s community, to our Sixth Form Information Evening this week.

Choosing the right Sixth Form is a really important decision. Being in the right environment can significantly influence a student’s success in their next steps beyond Sixth Form, whether that is in Higher Education, Apprenticeships or School Leaver Programmes.

The aim of our open evening was to demonstrate that the Sixth Form at St Edward’s is not more of the same, but a unique experience. Students are challenged to perform at their best and encouraged to aim high, as well as being provided with opportunities outside the classroom.

The event began with an introduction from our Headmaster, Matthew Burke, followed by presentations from our Head of Sixth, Mr Rodrigues and our Deputy Head Academic, Mr Reynolds. Also on hand to talk, were three members of our current Upper Sixth, who spoke about their own experiences at St Edward’s and the many benefits of being part of the Sixth Form community.

After the presentations there was a chance for all those who attended to visit subject stands for the 24 subjects currently available to study at A Level. It was lovely to hear the buzz of conversation as discussions were had about the various courses on offer and routes into future careers.
