After the challenges of the last two years, it was absolutely fantastic to see our whole school production come to life in the Performance Hall last week. This year’s production of ‘Seussical the Musical’, directed by Mrs Monk, was a fabulous opportunity for our students to express themselves creatively, and it was hugely impressive to see their natural talent shining through!

Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza from Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island and Ragtime) who have lovingly brought to life all of our favourite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Amayzing Mayzie, and a little boy with a big imagination -JoJo.

The colourful characters transported the audience from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, and the near-invisible world of the Whos. With the help of the members of our brilliant Make and Do Club, the Performance Hall was transformed into a weird and wonderful world perfectly befitting of the premise of the story.

From Year 7 to Upper Sixth, our performers embraced their roles whole-heartedly with everyone putting a huge amount of effort into rehearsals over the past few months. The nature of the show also allowed the skills and talents of our student tech crew to come to the fore, as they project-managed the sound and lighting essential to the show’s success.

Overall, it was an outstanding piece of theatre! Well done to our very talented cast, crew and staff!
