Senior Event

As the school closed for the Autumn Term, our students and staff joined together virtually for the end of year service. With each year group spread across the school, it was a lovely opportunity for reflection on the true meaning of Christmas, as well as the chance to celebrate our school community.

With readings from Eliza D (Year 10), Leo D and Leo P (Year 9), Daria L (Year 8), Alistair C (Head Boy) and Mairead M (Head Girl) each of our students spoke eloquently. The topics ranged from the Gospel of St Luke, to extracts from Laurie Lee and some poetry. Our Choirs added to the festive atmosphere performing several songs including Bright Star ShinningChristmas Bells and Who is this Tiny Child?

As Fr Pat brought the service to a close, bringing the attention back to the importance of Christmas, Mr Burke also reflected on the many achievements of the term, including the tremendous amount of money raised for various charities.

After the service, the House Captains presented a special video they had put together, featuring students and staff singing The 12 days of St Edward’s and Merry Christmas, Everyone, leaving the service on a note of community.

What a wonderful way to end the term and wish a peaceful Christmas to all.

Thank you to our speakers, the choirs and everyone involved in making the service a success.
