A programme of Mathematical Masterclasses were available online over the October half-term break.
A selection of mathematicians from Year 8 and Year 9 were invited to participate independently and then submit their answers directly to the organisers. The Masterclass materials provided an excellent opportunity for able and enthusiastic pupils to explore a range of mathematical ideas. The Masterclass was titled ‘Fibonacci Everywhere’ and feedback on the St Edward’s students was that their “response was really good and pupils should be congratulated”.
Certificates were awarded to four pupils. Bronze certificates went to Alice G (Y8) and Issy P (Y9), a Silver certificate to Jess L (Y8) and a Gold certificate to David W (Y9) who scored an impressive 39 out of 40 marks.
