SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS Outings

The current situation with COVID-19 has meant that this year, we have unfortunately not been able to run our usual Autumn Term Year 7 residential trip to Morfa Bay.

To make up for it, our fantastic Year 7 teaching team came up with an ambitious plan to bring elements of the Morfa Bay experience in to School instead.

After much careful planning, an exciting and adventurous day of events was planned that allowed for exploration of the ethos and meaning of being a full and effective member of the St Edward’s community, as well as the opportunity to have a great deal of fun!

In the morning pupils took part in a range of team building activities, run by the School’s Outdoor Education Department. Shelter building in the woodland and problem-solving tasks on the astro turf helped our Year 7s to develop their collaboration and leadership skills.

The afternoon saw the students head to the top field to compete in their House teams on inflatable obstacles and games. Much fun and lots of laughter was had by all involved and the students made the most of the opportunity to strengthen their connections with their peers.

The day ended with a reflection and take-away pizza – yum!
