Facilities
The Junior School is set in 40 acres of parkland in Charlton Kings on the edge of Cheltenham. The site boasts an impressive list of facilities, particularly for a Junior School. There are extensive playing fields with rugby pitches, football pitches, tennis courts, a red gras running track, cricket nets, and artificial cricket square. The school also has a fully equipped sports hall with changing rooms, meeting rooms and a social room.
The school is divided into four blocks, housed in separate buildings. Kindergarten is situated in a purpose built setting, with its own playground and timber trail and separate play area for babies. There is also parking beside the Kindergarten for dropping off and picking up. The Infant Department again, is housed in its own building with a multi-functional hall, library and playground with timber trail. The Junior Department is situated in the main teaching block, a two floored building, the first floor containing the Year 3 and Year 4 classrooms which was refurbished in 2004, and on the second floor the Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms which wase refurbished in 2007. This teaching block also has a fully equipped ICT teaching room and the school library. The main school office is situated in this block as are the kitchens, the Kindergarten dining room and the main dining room. There is also a specialist teaching block consisting of fully equipped, recently refurbished science lab, an art room with kiln, a home economics room, a sewing room and a building technology room. Music practise rooms and French are also housed in this specialist teaching block.
Ashley Manor, is a grade II listed building and houses the Headmaster’s office, chapel, the Registrar’s office, the Headmaster’s flat and the Chaplin’s flat, and Estates Manager’s office.
