Class Sizes

There are three age groups:

1 to 2½ years (Baby Unit)
2½ to 3 years olds (Blue and Yellow Group)
3 to 4 years olds (Pre-School)

Infant Department

2 Reception classes (limit of 20 in each class)
2 Year 1 classes (limit of 22 in each class)
2 Year 2 classes (limit of 22 in each class)

3 classes in each of Years 3, 4, 5 and 6
(generally a limit of 22 in each class)

In the Junior Department pupils are placed and taught in four ability groups in Year 4 for Mathematics, in Year 5 and 6 this is extended to English and Science.

The ability sets are continually monitored and where appropriate, pupils are moved from one set to another.
